Smooth Operator

I'll just put it out there: I have a way with the men... if that way involves blushing, stammering, and generally sounding like an idiot.

Case in point: I was at Starbucks the other day, getting my daily caffeine fix, when I saw THE BEST looking guy I have ever seen in my life. He also happened to be a barista. I know Brian has commented on it in the past, but damn, Starbucks does hire some good looking people! Anyway, I was at that pre-coffee stage (you know, matted hair, eyes glazed, the whole nine yards) and had just thrown on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt to go get my coffee. I wasn't really in the mood to make conversation, but the barista had a way of reeling me in. It all started as I was waiting for him to make my coffee:

Hot Barista: So, you're a law student, huh?
The BLS: Huh?
Hot Barista: It says (my law school) on your shirt.
The BLS: Oh, yeah.
Hot Barista: (handing The BLS her coffee) Yeah, I've always thought that brainy chicks were really hot.
The BLS: (almost spilling her hot coffee all over herself) Flanninghaff..... (The BLS scurries out of Starbucks)

Yep, I am truly a smooth operator. Seriously, how did Bauer and I ever hook up?

I loved it when I had TWO cute barista boys. I got my grande non-fat no whip mocha for $1.00 every day for months!!!!

I have this sneaking suspicion that Starbucks somehow manufactures all of its workers. That's the only way to explain the fact that most of them are supermodel quality.

Hmm...your barista conversation sounds like my reaction to any of the (very few) hot guys at work on the off chance that they say hi to me in the break room. Except you seem to have managed to make some kind of noise...
